Wentworth Health Service Redevelopment

In June 2021 the NSW Government committed $30 million to redevelop the Wentworth Health Service.

Health Infrastructure is in the early planning stages to deliver a new hospital within the Wentworth community.

A contemporary health facility will improve the community’s access to health services and deliver additional inpatient and community outpatient health services, reducing the need for residents to travel to Victoria to access services.

The new hospital will provide a significant improvement on the current 80-year-old Wentworth District Hospital facility.

Health Infrastructure is working with the Far West Local Health District in the development of the master plan for the facility with significant input from the wider Wentworth community.

The project will deliver a modern facility with inpatient and community outpatient health services for the people of Wentworth and the surrounding communities.

The scope for the project is under review as part of the clinical services planning. The Clinical Services Plan will help determine the requirements for a new hospital, confirm the role of the hospital within the District, the range of health care services provided, and how these services may be provided.
