The Media Officer for Far West LHD is Branko Licul on 0411 119 592 or email branko.licul@health.nsw.gov.au

The Media Unit is the primary point of contact for news organisations. All media enquiries must come through the Media Unit in the first instance. This includes:

  • Requests for interviews
  • Photo requests of staff, patients or our facilities
  • General enquiries about health issues
  • Any condition updates on patients who have been injured in an accident or are otherwise of interest to the media

Please do not call our hospitals directly as they are not allowed to provide this information.

Staff are not permitted to speak to journalists or representatives of media organisations without the knowledge or permission of the Media Officer.

An On-Call Media Officer is available after normal business hours to assist media with urgent enquiries. This is organised on a roster basis and the correct person to contact is available via a voicemail message on 0411 119 592.

Staff Recognition Awards For 2018 - Nominations Open

Do you wish to nominate a Health Service staff member for special recognition?

The Far West Local Health District is asking anyone who has experienced a level of health care or service they think was above the expected to nominate that staff member for an award.

Nominations are open for staff to be recognised in the Far West LHD’s annual Recognition Awards to be held on 10 August 2018.

“We want to know if you have wanted to recognise someone for doing an exceptional job,” said Zandra Corey, Director Clinical Governance Unit, Far West LHD.

“Far West LHD takes consumer feedback very seriously and public recognition of good work by staff members is an important part of that. We have processes in place for people to nominate staff and teams for special recognition and we celebrate those accolades with an annual awards presentation,” said Ms Corey.

People can easily nominate a staff member by going online and filling out an electronic form. Patients, carers and consumers can nominate staff three ways. They can go to the Far West LHD website, click on the ‘Contact Us’ heading on the left of the page and then follow the instructions for nominating via the website. You can also click on ‘Staff Recognition Awards’ in Hot Topics on the front page and follow the instructions OR send an email to FWLHD-Feedback@health.nsw.gov.au. Nominations forms are also available from the health service. Nominations close on 29 June 2018.

Ms Corey encouraged everyone to nominate a staff member they believed should be recognised.

“We look forward to hearing from our consumers in recognising staff and teams who do good work or go above and beyond when delivering services to the community,” she said.

“These electronic options can be done at any time and from anywhere a person has access to a computer or internet connection.  Alternatively, they can fill out a nomination form when they are next visiting the health service,” said Ms Corey.

The nominations for staff recognition will be celebrated as part of the annual Far West Health Innovation Awards to be held on 10 August, where staff will be recognised for their efforts in improving our services, providing great care and for excellence in their field of work.
